In his Autumn Statement on December 3, the Chancellor announced that the government intended to devolve corporation tax rates to the Northern Ireland Executive at Stormont. In a debate on the Statement in the Lords on December 4, Alistair Lexden welcomed the long-awaited decision and went on to review the opportunities and challenges that this further measure of devolution would create for the Northern Ireland Executive if it is able to manage the financial implications.
