Having spoken on a number of occasions about the issue—vital for the future of our democracy— Alistair Lexden returned to it once more during the report stage of the Government’s Wales Bill in the Lords on November 11.
There is strong cross-party support in the Welsh Assembly for powers to ensure that Electoral Registration Officers visit schools and meet potential young voters face-to-face. Alistair Lexden backed this proposal strongly, citing the success of school visits in Northern Ireland.
