According to the Electoral Commission, three out of every ten youngsters who are eligible to vote are not on the electoral registers in Britain today. There are a number of ways in which this serious state of affairs could be remedied. One is to adapt the forms that all university students are required to fill in.
On 16 January Alistair Lexden, along with peers from other parties, pressed the government to take action through the Higher Education and Research Bill which is currently going through the Lords.
