Much of Alistair Lexden’s work in the sphere of education stems from his position as President of the Independent Schools Association which provides a wide range of services to its 370 members, many of them small schools charging modest fees for an excellent education.
The Association’s report for the academic year 2014-15 will be published shortly. It notes that the President “regularly speaks in Parliament on educational matters, including in 2014-15 (written and oral contributions) on the role of Combined Cadet Forces in promoting leadership values (16 October 2014), school inspections (14 and 22 July 2014), bullying (16 November 2014), Special Educational Needs (8 July 2014), British values in education (26 June 2014), the variety and diversity of independent schools (4 March 2014) and class size in schools (15 October 2014)”.
