Great concern has been expressed by British universities about the damaging effects of immigration policy on the country’s ability to remain highly attractive to overseas students.
In a debate on the subject in the Lords on November 17, Alistair Lexden drew attention to the growing difficulties which face independent schools and sixth-form colleges as a result of the current visa system and the unsatisfactory way it is being administered.
