The Independent Schools Association (ISA), of which Alistair Lexden is President, has for the first time in its history established a headquarters office adequate to its needs after many years in confined premises in Saffron Walden, Essex. ISA House, a spacious and splendidly equipped (and decorated) building with three floors, is in Great Chesterford on the Essex/ Cambridge border, readily accessible from all parts of the country. It has facilities for large meetings, training courses and professional development sessions.
The Association continues to expand ; it now works on behalf of the heads of some 370 schools(varying greatly in size and type)and further applications to join are being processed. At the new ISA House the Association’s dedicated staff, under Chief Executive, Neil Roskilly, will be able to provide their wide-ranging services more effectively than ever before.
Alistair Lexden formally opened ISA House on September 26 when a champagne reception was held for members of the Association and guests. He congratulated the Association on this major milestone in its 137-year history, made possible by the enthusiastic support given to the project in its early days by Angela Culley, who chaired the Association in 2012-13, and continued by her successors, Richard Walden, Andrew Hampton and Dr Sarah Welch, the current occupant. The Association’s Executive Committee gave vigorous support throughout. Neil Roskilly oversaw the immense amount of work needed to bring the project to a successful conclusion.
